Today's Activities: Ferry to Chillon Castle, Jazz I Performance & Jazz II Performance.

From Chillon Castle:

Bonjour, to everyone back in the states.  This is Evan Bybee reporting on our wonderful time in Grindelwald, Switzerland.  Our morning began like any other.  An early wake-up call and a quick trip to the breakfast buffet.  The croissants have been particularly excellent.  Then it was on the bus and off to Grindelwald.  Two hours can really fly by with friends, an ipod or, the apparent most popular, a quick nap.  It began to rain as the bus pulled into the quaint little German speaking town.  Some of us were a little disappointed.  There was promise of snow.  There wasn’t.  So, upon arrival the umbrellas came out and we were all herded to the pfingstegg gondola.  It was a relatively short trip, but the view was positively breath taking and even then, that is a complete understatement.  The clouds were pure white and hugged the top of the mountains as if they were a blanket tucking them in for a nice long nap.  The falling rain disappearing into the pure green sea below us, as we raised into the heavens above.  It only took about three or four trips of the gondola to get us to the top and about five to ten minutes to soak in the view.  Regrettably, because of the rain, the toboggan was closed and we were not able to go flying down the mountain on a small piece of metal on a really big slide.  Thus, we had two possibilities to return to the village: the gondola or a nice scenic hike with Mr. J.  We all ended up at the same place, but those who went on the hike got to see more of the country side.  Back in the town, everyone was alive and filled with excitement at all the goodies that Grindelwald had to offer.  I even partook in a particularly delicious dish entitled Goulash.  So, with our wallets lighter and our hearts even higher, we got back on our busses and returned to Montreux for our afternoon performance.  Traveling is an exciting, well, adventure and there is really no other way to explain it.  Even with disappointment everyone had such an ecstatic experience that our trip to Grindelwald, Switzerland is one that I doubt anyone will soon forget.
